I have joined this community because I need advice regarding how to help my Daughter. she is presently in a residential flat but will be having 28 days notice served on her soon as she has very challenging behaviour/learning disabilities/complex needs and is undiagnosed at the moment with detachment disorder and this is her 7 placement in 11 years and her carers/ ICAT team feel that her triggers may be due to environmental triggers so are saying that her present place to live is not right for her and that we may have to go down the supported living route to be able to find the correct care package for her which I do not agree with and feel she is too vulnerable to be put in this situation. I am finding the whole situation quite daunting and do know where to start and who to get impartial advice from and what are my rights in trying to protect my daughter if this is not the right decision for her. Can anyone point me in the right direction please.

Hello there @jwing44 and welcome to the community, thank you for reaching out, as I can see you're concerned about your next steps.
I'm sorry to hear that your daughter "will be having 28 days notice served on her soon", have you had any indication of when this might be happening in writing?
You've mentioned you have concerns over the 'supported living route' as you feel your daughter is too vulnerable to be put in that situation. Can I ask if anything in particular is worrying you, or perhaps what your ideal support package would look like?
You might want to look into advocacy services, the NHS explains how you can access this support. You could get in touch with the following services, to see if they can help with any decisions being made about your daughters care:POhWER is a charity that helps people to be involved in decisions being made about their care. Call POhWER's support centre on 0300 456 2370 for advice.
The Advocacy People gives advocacy support. Call 0330 440 9000 for advice or text PEOPLE to 80800 and someone will get back to you.
VoiceAbility gives advocacy support. Call their helpline on 0300 303 1660 for advice or use VoiceAbility's online referral form.
I hope this helps, and let us know if we can support you further with anything0
