Hi, I am having a telephone meeting with the Jobcentre next week. I have been on ESA for 7 years ( depression and severe anxiety ) and haven't had any contact with them for the last 4 or so. I am really nervous and worried about this... what will happen in the call? Any advice and help would be appreciated.

Are you in the Support Group? if so and this is a work focused interview then you do not need to attend and it's completely optional.

I was in the support group but got moved into the WRAG about 4 years ago after a second assessment. I went to one WRAG meeting about 4 years ago and hadn't heard from them since. I had a letter this week for a telephone meeting, the letter states that I could be sanctioned if I don't attend. I am really worried about this. I know that I'm not able to work but don't know what will happen in the phone call. I feel lost.poppy123456 said:Are you in the Support Group? if so and this is a work focused interview then you do not need to attend and it's completely optional.0 -
Then it's a work focused interview. They will likely ask what you're doing to prepare to work in the future. They are correct and you do need to make sure you answer the call otherwise you could be sanctioned. There's some information here about WFI https://www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/employment-and-support-allowance/esa-glossary/work-focused-interview
