thank you for replying, why im concerned is because i had to lie about my address to re register with my old doctor because of catchment areas0

and im already on esa0

DWP very rarely contact a GP anyway so it won't make any difference. However, wouldn't it have been better to speak to your new GP at the time, rather than lie about your address.

thanks for your reply, i tried to but he wasnt interested so i wanted to be under the care of my old dr but because of catchment areas i had to lie about my address and i read somewhere that esa contacted someones doctor before the actual person regarding an esa assesment0

They rarely contact a GP. In 10 years of claiming ESA i've only known them contact my GP once. Even if they do then it won't affect your ESA. The worst that will happen will be your GP will remove you from the list for living outside of the area.

But how can they confirm my medical problems without contacting my dr, and if they do and see a different address you know what the dwp are like for using any excuse to stop your money, its just bothering me aswell because i havent had an assesment for well over 3 years. Isnt it supposed to be every 3 yrs?0

Different people are assessed at different times but all reviews are currently suspended due to the backlog.
They don’t usually contact your GP - they reply on you telling them about how you are affected. If you have any contact with other health professional you are giving them your correct address so that they can write to you. When they do so they will usually copy letters to your GP and can therefore see the discrepancy in your address.
You should really sort out your GP so that you are correctly registered with a GP that covers your location.0 -
I think I'm going to have to find a gp closer to me but thanks for your advice0

I think that's a sensible idea because if your current GP finds out you lied to them then you could be removed and you'll be left without a GP.

Yea that's true I'm going go register at a practice closer to home1

I've had GP's contacted several times for my ESA claim. One GP couldn't understand why I was unable to get into the surgery (agoraphobia, OCD & severe medical phobia etc) and wouldn't sign off the ESA forms even after several emails and even calls with a relative. In the end I was forced to the Job Centre to have another assessment.
Not saying that's common, but does show that they do contact the GP sometimes. Fortunately, that assessment was carried out properly, and I haven't been asked for another one from either the GP or JobCentre since.1 -
