Pip journey

Hi All,
So I thought I would share my journey with others as there are many bad stories out there but not as many good ones and when I was waiting for my decision the bad ones definitely didn't help.
So I applied for Pip on the 12 December of last year,
It took me ages to fill in the form because I had to gather information but by the 22nd of December they had received it and informed me I may need a consultation and to wait for further correspondence.
I was informed in early January (can't remember exact date) that I was to have a Video assessment on the 2nd of Feb. This is where the anxiety and panic kicked in!
On the 2nd of Feb the lady who assessed me called an hour early and asked if we could move forward the appointment. I panicked and said I was in an appointment (I was not 🤫) and to call back in 20 mins.
I used that time and gained my composure and gathered my paperwork and when she called back she was absolutely lovely and really understanding and gave me plenty of time to fully explain how my disability affects me. I never felt pushed or spoken down to. I had my sister with me to help so have someone there if you can.
I was told I would hear back within 8 weeks and we ended the call. More anxiety ensues!
By the next day I had a text saying my report was with the DWP and I would receive a decision in 8 weeks.
More anxiety!
On the 16th of Feb I received a message to say I had been awarded pip.
I know there are alot of bad stories out there but in my personal experience it was very smooth and easy from start to finish.
This was a first time claim so I expected it to be much harder. The waiting and not knowing drives you insane but the process I found very easy!
Reading the posts on this forum helped keep me sane so thanks to you all.
So that's it really, hopefully this post may help someone who was filled with dread, like I was, to just relax and not worry to much.
