Hello everyone My name is Tommy, I am 41 years old and have Dieplegic CP which affects my mobility greatly more so now that I am ageing, I am finding I am becoming much more tired more easily, but what is most concerning is, is that I have begun to experience dizzy spells which affects my balance and leaves me disoriented, I have read that there may be a link between dizziness/vertigo, and CP, is there any truth in this ?.or could it be exhaustion, its kind of scary, thanks guys

Hello @Tommyc38. Thank you for reaching out to us. I always appreciate the courage it takes to reach out, especially when you are new and finding things tough.
In all honesty, we don't provide medical advice here. Symptoms can mean a number of different things but I can hear how scary this is for you.
You would be best placed to speak to your GP and/or medical team. I will, however, tag @Richard_Scope in this just in case Richard can add anything from a CP perspective.
In the meantime, is there anything, in particular, that usually helps you when you are feeling scared?

Hi @Tommyc38
Thanks for your post. Dizziness is not generally considered a part of CP. Have you had your blood pressure tested recently or your blood sugar levels?
As we age with CP our mobility can change but it is really important to rule other potential health issues out as well.Scope

Hi Guys Thomas here, thanks for coming back to.me with the Advice, the Dizzy spells have eased off, I'm working full time as well and I have been sick and exhausted too, so perhaps that's what was causing it, @Richard_Scope I have Botox injections as well regularly, had them last week now I have flu, it just seems that lately I've been brought down with one thing and another, even now if I go for a swim I can be wrecked the day after, trying to manage it all and work with CP is exhausting, I can never seem to get the balance right, thank you as always for the advice Richard

Hi @Tommyc38, I'm really glad to read that the dizziness has eased off for you. It might still be a good idea to ask your G.P. for a blood test to check your iron levels. Low iron/anaemia can add to the fatigue we can get with CPScope
