I have been on ESA contribution based for years. I sent the DWP copies of my bank statements that they wanted. It showed that I do not have £16,000 in savings. I want the DWP to put me on income related ESA. I have been trying to get in touch with the DWP for almost an hour, without talking to anyone, so I used this site - to see if I can get some advice.

Hello @JanetLukeandMaisey4
Just to let you know, I popped your post in our ESA section of the forum, in case others have some advice.
I'm sorry to hear you didn't manage to get through to DWP today, hopefully you do tomorrow!0 -
If it's the old contributions based ESA then you will need to ring them to ask them to assess you for the Income Related top up. They will then send you the ESA3 form to fill in and return with all your information.Whether you're entitled to it will depend on your circumstances. The best time to ring them is first thing in the morning when they open.0
