Found out that my ultrasound scan was apparently requested by the A&E doctors at my local hospital

When I went for my ultrasound scan yesterday, I asked the sonographer why was I having an ultrasound scan done of my reproduction organs and she said that it had been requested by an A&E doctor, but the results would be sent to my doctors.
She asked me if I wanted her to do an internal ultrasound scan and I'd refused as I've had either one or two in the past and found them very uncomfortable, so she said that she would put a note on my scan to let the doctor know that I'd refused the internal scan and the reason why I'd refused.
The lady who did my scan also said that my doctor would contact me when they have the results of my ultrasound scan. I've just realised that I'd forgotten to ask the lady who did my scan how long would it take to get the results. I probably forgot as I was desperate for the toilet and to catch the shuttle bus back to my local hospital. I'd only just beat the bus to the stop tho even though I'd had to take a detour to the ladies first.

Hey @BrianMcFaddenfan07. If you want to know who it was and you are not sure, could you call the place that provided the ultrasound?

They should have records they are able to use to inform you. Also, hopefully, the wait won't be too long. How are you feeling about everything at the moment?  :)

@L_Volunteer I'm a bit confused to be honest with you as I was told by a doctor that I need an mri scan on my bowel, but I get sent an appointment letter for an ultrasound scan. I haven't heard anything about my mri yet. I don't even know if the doctor has booked it yet either. It'll be two weeks tomorrow since I was discharged from the hospital and when the doctor told me that I'll need an mri scan on my bowel.

I can hear your confusion @BrianMcFaddenfan07. Do you feel comfortable asking them why this may be?

I know when I had GI issues, I had to have an MRI scan and ultrasound (in and among other tests). Hopefully, you will hear soon but do reach out to them if you feel able  :)
