Elvanse and Venlafaxine Experiences??

Hi all,
I struggled for several years with my mental health and tried MANY antidepressants none of which helped, thankfully I finally got my diagnoses of autism and adhd last year (at age 38) and found an adhd med (Elvanse) that worked for me! It genuinely has improved the quality of my daily life over the last several months.
However - I was still taking Venlafaxine which I am now tapering off, having now found a medication correct for my condition, and I've had a rough few days. Is this just withdrawal effects of the medication leaving my body or do I need to stay with it? I have only been taking Ven for 10 months and had some pretty down times during that hence why I didn't think it was helpful and taking Elvanse as I said has really had some positive effects for me so I'm just hoping that this will return once the Ven has completely gone?
Does anyone have any experience with this? I can't seem to find any discussions about this at all online 😩
Many thanks 🙏🏻

I take Venlafaxine 300mg (have done for around 5 years) and Elvanse 30mg for around 5 months. I would think it's the withdrawals from Venlafaxine; the longest I've gone without Venlafaxine is 2 days and they were horrific, whereas while I haven't missed any Elvanse, I've heard there are few withdrawal symptoms and they are quite mild.
If you are really determined to come off the Venlafaxine, stick with it! I can't promise it's a short journey, but I'm sure it'll be worth it if you are tapering as per doctor's instructions.
This is anecdotal, but I've heard Cod liver oil can help with Venlafaxine withdrawals (I've not tried them myself, but I've heard it from several people).0 -

I'm not asking for medical advice here just other ND people's experiences - I am tapering under consultation with my GP and am aware that there will be withdrawal symptoms. My question was in others' experience will the positive effects I was feeling from Elvanse return once the Venlafaxine is gone.0 -
Hey @ji65. It sounds really positive that you have finally got your diagnoses now and have found a medication which has worked for you. Anything that helps is worth a try!
In terms of knowing whether it is just withdrawal effects or if you need to stay with it, you would need to check with a GP or other medical professional.
As there has been a little while since you posted now, I am wondering how you are currently feeling and if you have found any answers to your question
