Hi newbie here I have a quick query regarding backdating pip.

I got accepted last year around May,
I was waiting on a medical diagnosis which I had stated in my form and on the telephone appointment to which I finally got last September.
I contacted pip to inform them and had my reassessment this week (Friday).
When I first a applied I felt like they didn't take my mobility issues seriously.
I stated I could move between 50 to 200mtrs but was in great pain.
The girl wrote I could move more than 200mtrs without a problem.
I didn't want to rock the boat at the time due to being lucky enough to get it first time and the stress it caused was exhausting.
I'm not sure how the outcome is going to look.
My main question is will I be backdated to my first assessment or my reassessment date.

Thank you for your time.

If you’re award is higher this time then it wont be paid from the first assessment. What you should have done then if you disagreed was challenge that decision.

For this claim if you reported a change of health condition then the changes will take place from when you rang to report the changes, if this award is higher.

If you’re refused then your PIP will stop completely.

Thank you for your quick response.
I was rewarded standard mobility on my first assessment.
I was just trying to find a straight answer as the internet is a minefield with different sites stating different facts.
Thank you for your help I sort of thought that's how it works but just unsure.
    Thank you again poppy123456

The internet can, indeed, be like a minefield @kayz89. Please feel free to let us know if there are any other straight answers we can give or help to clarify anything else  :)
