Hi all, I know and understand the pain you are all going through because of the lack of knowledge and incompetent stupidity of the d.w.p decision making, although pip call us these days for a review unlike before we're we could sit in front of a human and not feel intimated and rushed unlke the calls do now, D.w.p and all of its departments, I think ,have not only denied peoples true benefits they are in titled to, but dishes out to people that con the system and actually get away with it for years , so in my case of pip they wouldn't award me because I'm not on any kind of painkillers which in my case does not help me one bit as my GP has tried well over50 differentkinds but without success in helping me , I'm sorry but I think D.w.p and there system only works for those who are not in titled

Many people get awarded PIP on the first try and it's not because they are fraudsters, but because they know how the process works. PIP is not based on a diagnoses but how your condition affects you. It's important to check the descriptors before applying to ensure you are likely to be awarded, get family and friends to help you with this as people tend to under/overstimate how they are affected. When applying for PIP it's important you give multiple examples of why you cannot do certain activities, and what would happen if you attempted them. Just saying you cannot do certain things is not enough, you need to explain why, getting family and friends to give anecdotal evidence in the form is helpful. When being assessed remember they are not there to jot down everything that happened word for word, but to see if you match the descriptors and award points based on that. It's absolutely vital you communicate you difficulties clearly, and they need to be relevant to the descriptors. People tend to downplay their issues at an assessment..Also getting found unfit for work does not automatically entitle a person to PIP. Most people can't get PIP because they can't get enough points no matter what.
Like I stated earlier a large majority of people getting PIP are genuine claimants who know how the application and assessment process works. Did you go to MR or appeal when you application was refused?2 -

Which is why any leaflet says "may be entitled to".For those people who do apply but fail in their attempt to gain PIP, the failure is usually because they didn`t prepare well enough (contradictory evidence, not matching how their condition affects them to the relevant descriptors and so on).

true_justice said:I'm sorry I disagree ,yes there are people who do get pip, I was one of them but because I'm not prescribed painkillers according to pip there for I must not be in pain when that's totally incorrect, painkillers don't help in anyway so am I suppose to lie and get tablets that don't work just so there on my script then pip would award me again, were is the justice in that
Refusing and award because you don't take any medication is one of the classic copy and paste reasons. Lots of people successfully claim PIP and not take any medication.
