Thanks for your comment Poppy123456. This whole ordeal Is so, so stressful!0

I can hear how stressful it is for you at the moment @Bugz. Would anything, in particular, help to reduce the stress? Please don't hesitate to let us know if there's anything we can do to support you1

Thank-you for your comment L_volunteer.
I had a letter from the DWP on Friday to say they've now got all the information on my PIP claim. Hopefully it won't be too much longer now for a decision.0 -

Thanks for your update @Bugz, this sounds like such a relief for you. Hopefully, it won't be too much longer now for the decision.
Please don't hesitate to let us know how this goes and if there's anything else we can do to support you with this0 -
Does anybody know when you receive the decision letter from the DWP stating the award you've been awarded. After speaking with PIP this morning I've been awarded what the PIP assessor recommended. Thanks in advance.0
-
Also, I forgot to add, I've only been told about the new amount I'll be paid going forward but nothing about any back payment. If there is a backdated payment, will that be paid before or after the new amount starts getting paid?0
-
That's great news @Bugz I'm afraid details of backpay would be in the letter.0
-
If they owe you any money then it will be paid as a lump sum and separate to any 4 weekly payment.0
-
Thank-you both for your comments. Now an award has been made it's just a case of waiting on a letter from the DWP confirming the award0

@ Blue_eyes. Thank-you. I hope you are well?0

Hi guys,Can anyone please advise?I received my PIP award letter from the DWP today. It states my new award, however, there's nothing in the letter explaining about a backdated payment.Am I too assume that there's not going to be any backdated payment or will I receive a separate letter confirming this?0
-
Hi @Bugz I believe any back payment does come through separately, so it's likely you were just sent a standard confirmation letter. I'm glad to hear the letter has arrived though
How do you feel about it all?0 -
@Alex_Scope thanks for your comment. The award letter tells me it's for 2 year's. It gives dates of payment from April 14th to the 9th of May with new award. No mention of any backdated payments though. If I'm being honest I'm glad it's all over now1

In normal times if it’s a review started by DWP and your new award is higher than your previous award they don’t usually owe any money for the difference.
However, because of the backlogs some people have been owed some money but not everyone. If they owe you any money your decision letter should say something like this… we may owe you some money, we will contact you in due course regarding this. If it doesn’t say anything like this then very likely they aren’t backdating your award.Best thing to do to be sure is to ring them on Monday morning.0 -
It's rather confusing this whole pip process. This review has taken approximately 15 months to complete. My award has increased significantly. My award is going from the 14th of April to the 9th of May.
I'm confused though as I have an email from the DWP saying if my award should increase then they will consider backdated payments.
I think the DWP just make things up as they go along.0 -

Yes, and with that I am assuming that there will be no backdated payment0
