You mention contributions based ESA and then mention a disability premium. Which ESA are you claiming? Is it New style ESA or the old contributions based? Contributions based ESA Support Group is £117.60/week, if your ESA is more than this then you will be claiming Income Related.

For the SDP you must live alone or be classed as living alone. If you live with other adults they must also be claiming either daily living PIP, DLA mid/high rate care or AA or they are registered blind. No one must be claiming either carers allowance or carers element of Universal Credit for looking after you.

Thank you so much for your reply.

I’m on the old style contribution esa at £117
Dwp contacted me to see if I was eligible for SDP but then after asking questions said I wasn’t entitled as I’m on contribution based esa.
I can’t find anywhere that states it’s for income related esa only.

£117.60/week is either contributions based or New style ESA. It's only paid when claiming Income Related. https://www.gov.uk/disability-premiums
If you're ESA is the old contributions based then it maybe possible to claim the Income Related top up but this will totally depend on your financial circumstances.
If your ESA is New style ESA then there's no disability premiums payable with this. When did your ESA claim start? If it was after end of December 2018 then it will definitely be New style.
