Hello. My rent increased on 11th February. I have reported that on journal by 26th February. I was only asked to upload tenancy agreement along with proof of address as utility bill. Fast forward I haven't heard anything from them apart from automatic message on journal ' proof of housing costs completed '. On Friday or yesterday I have received message on journal that I didn't provide sufficient evidence and my amount will continue as it is. If want to make changes I should report on journal blah blah.. I done it again this morning. Again! It only asked for tenancy agreement and utility bill. I also added note on journal that my address hasn't come it's only an increase. Guys what's going on with UC people?

Are you privately renting or renting from social housing? If privately renting you may already be receiving the maximum housing element amount for your circumstances.
I see from other threads you're living with your son, if it's just the 2 of you and you're privately renting then you'll be entitled to the 2 bedroom rate of local housing allowance. (LHA) You can check the rates for that here. https://lha-direct.voa.gov.uk/ It will give you the weekly amount but you'll need to work out the monthly amount because UC is a monthly benefit.

@poppy123456 I'm renting privately. I checked housing allowance for my post code and I'm still within the limit. According to local housing allowance there's still £30 per month I'm below for 1 bedroom flat. But UC send message that I didn't provide sufficient evidence. The only evidence they asked was tenancy agreement and utility bill.

If you've already put a message onto your journal then you'll need to wait for someone to respond.

@poppy123456 sorry. According to local housing allowance I was within the limit. I was paying £1250 per month and LHA in my area is 1278 per month for 1 bedroom. From February my rent went up to £1350 which is above the LHA for 1 bed. For 2 bed LHA is £1540 in my area.

Although you're entitled to the 2 bedroom rate of LHA, you can't receive more than your actual rent amount. This means that UC will cover all of your new rent amount of £1,350/month.

Ok thank you Poppy. I was thinking why did they say " no sufficient evidence" when I uploaded what the website asked me to.
