Hi there welcome to the Forum it's lovely to meet you. My name is Jaide also know as @durhamjaide2001 unfortunately I'm not an expert on this area so I would suggest to have a look in the benefits section on the website.
As well as this I would suggest maybe having a look at the coffee lounge where there's some fun and games happening.

Hi and welcome to the community

I can't answer about your esa but I wouldn't recommend handing in your notice

You should discuss your future options with your employer first . They could make reasonable adjustments or find another role or if not could dismiss you on medical grounds which can sometimes pay a compensation payment tho it isn't a legal requirement some companies do pay this

There is no other options for me there and I wouldn’t want too do anything else I’m afraid it’s in a care home

You’re already claiming ESA so handing in your notice wouldn’t affect this.

I agree with Janer though that you shouldn’t just hand your notice in. Before doing this you should get some expert advice,

Please don't hand in your notice. If you have any kind of length of service, please get expert advice.

I was in this position and felt I should leave, but you are usually n a stronger position benefit wise, if your employers release you from your contract for incapacity than if you resign.

As before speak to your employer about this or at least find out their policy on medical dismissal

Have you had any meetings with your employer about your long term absence and if they are expecting you to return to work

I have had no contact with my employer I am a housekeeper and the head housekeeper has already made her mind up that I’m not coming back because she said the job is too strenuous for me now x

They then need to go through the correct process to dismiss you on medical grounds or on grounds of capability
