Dwp question assessment

Like many I’ve had serious problems with PIP.

What I didn’t expect was to be told today that DWP doesn’t agree with my assessment (and it’s quite right) that they think my award should be higher than the assessment stated. 

The way this was explained was they have questioned it but they can’t action it until the assessor agrees. In terms of they can’t action it on their system until the decision of a higher award is agreed by the assessment provider/person.

I had already requested a complaint form anyway as my assessment person left off vital and very provable things (only when it relates to points I now know) but also that dwp had asked for additional information and medical repairs had apparently backed up (as it should because it’s irrefutable) my actual disability.

What I wasn’t expecting was for DWP to decide I should have a higher award than the assessor stated, even though I should have the higher award.

it’s just a strange one where DWP despite making so many mistakes and denying me the correct award on more than one occasion before leading to thousands in lost benefits I wasn’t well enough to keep going to appeal regarding are now arguing with the assessors my pony’s should be higher.

I feel a bit paranoid that DWP are arguing (rightly) for a correct award when they have always previously tried to deny as much award as possible.

is this normal? Has anyone else had DWP argue they should have higher points? 

I should be pleased, but it’s always been such an awful experience and usually led to loss of genuine entitlement that I’m a bit freaked out that DWP are actually being competent???

Have you checked the descriptors to see if you are eligible for more points, that would entitle you to a higher award.

Sorry about above post, it cannot be edited, I missinterpreted you post...it's not unknown for the DWP to disagree with the assessors, the DWP are not complete monsters trying to ruin people's lives by denying them cash they are entitled to. People only ever hear the horror stories and not the good experiences that the majority of people actually have.

I can completely understand that. The change by Scope has stopped me largely posting because I am well clear that I often used to want to develop my post over more than just an immediate post.

They haven't removed the edit feature purposely. There's an issue, which they are aware of. Hopefully it will be sorted soon because it's terrible and makes commenting quite difficult. I'm another one that edits comments quite a lot, if i miss some information or to even add a link.
