Hi all 😀
can anyone advice me I really don’t understand how it all works so I’ll try my best to explain here goes 😬 my partner gets lcwra and pip I receive Carer element and carer allowance
my health has rapidly gone down hill and I’ve been awarded pip for myself I’m also entitled to lcwra (don’t receive as partner gets it)
my question is can my partner get the care element for caring for me ?

Your partner will not be able to claim carers element for looking after you because they are claiming LCWRA element for their self. The same person can’t claim both elements at the same time. See link https://www.entitledto.co.uk/help/carers-with-limited-capability-for-work-universal-credit
The same advice was given in your other thread here https://forum.scope.org.uk/discussion/102558/really-confused#latest0 -
Poppy has advised several times
Only one claimant of the couple can be paid LCWRA element (even if both are assessed as LCWRA).
Simply, both can also be assessed as carers but a claimant receiving LCWRA element cannot be paid the carer element.0
