Some times when you are feeling under the weather, Tablets and pills, or even having operations that were long over due are really not enough.
Some times is your family that need to be on board to see the signs of a time to say, right sit down lets have a cup of tea or coffee and a chin wag. Is everything OK with you? You look a little tired today? Is enough to say to your self that your family do notice the other things.
Its not aggression, when I make a point but don't realise that the gruff tone could be taken the differently than intended. Because I have such a large family/extended family there is always a birthday or anniversary or "special days" like the day I met my wife. I remember because it was on my birthday 22/07/1969.
If you spend your life only thinking about when was the last time I took this or that, or when is my next appointment, or writing letters or calling government departments asking what is happening, you are loosing out on all the other things in life, like the fun things of this weekend we are going kite flying? We haven't got a kite? Your right I have 4 Peter Powell kites, on taking them to Porthcawl last week, and because of the size and a bit of extra wind, Jacob was being lifted off the floor.
That combined with my new digital camera had some great shots. Gracey was and took some shots with the camera which when you think she is 3? and had already been using my camera in the house.
Spent a weekend on the beach, it was enough to charge the batteries for the week.
Every weekend is an adventure now, as it gets everyone out of the house, during the week is also a change and go to Barry and have fish and chips instead of cooking.
I used to tell my kids how when I was young we used to go to a chip shop in the National Park out side Sydney called Don's fish and chip bar, which was a tin shed in the middle of no were, yet to get their was 90 miles? into the park one end in the morning and then to Don's for Dinner and then home. A day out for chips? My lot have now found out that I like a cake shop in Tenby, and have gone to Tenby with the kids to get them out but on the way back have got me Bara brith and Bread Pudding.
I spend so much time their that even if my family go their the lady asks about me?
So when your feeling a bit under the weather, remember we, on here can just listen if you need to chat or get your self into a poem mode and have a go.
Don't be afraid to post as this forum is not judgemental and may be all you need.
We all have skills, as we are all different.

I love this and because I have been to hospitals they say they are taking a holistic but a holistic approach for me it means that they are giving the same care you would get if you are at a hospice but on a smaller scale.1

I must be one of the only Welsh people who don't like Bara Brith ... just weird soaking raisins and currants in tea
Thanks for sharing1 -
@welshBlue. That's exactly it....... there are probably other things I like that you don't but that what makes talking great. I have spent 60 YEARS trying to make bread pudding like my mum. And although she has passed many years ago, I am still an apprentice. I am actually making it as I post and the bread is soaking every one I make I try something new, with the ingredients.
My daughter makes Bara brith but believe it or not I can't. Her hubby makes a brilliant Trifle so what do you like and what do you like cooking, a sort of signature dish? How do you like your steak.
As I am writing I feel another poem coming on about cooking.....
Will make the bread pudding and then let you know.0 -
Just a thought of the day:
People who have lots of birthdays tend to live longer.......0
