PIP textphone

Hi,
has anyone actually used the PIP textphone for the hard of hearing?
The number I have is 0800 121 4493 and I’ve dialled it using the Relay UK app but it just sounds like a fax machine and then disconnects.

    Good afternoon @Fibleepy. I haven't personally used Relay so not sure if I'm saying something obvious, but the PIP helpline says when using Relay you use 18001 then 0800 121 4433. Is that what you're trying?

    Thanks Adrian. The Relay app is set to dial 18001 automatically before a phone number but the number you have quoted (ending 4433) is different to the number I’ve tried (ending 4493) so I’ll try your number tomorrow.

    The number you’ve been using ending 4493 is incorrect. Adrian’s number is correct.

    Personal Independence Payment (PIP)

    Telephone: 0800 121 4433
    Textphone: 0800 121 4493
    Relay UK (if you cannot hear or speak on the phone): 18001 then 0800 121 4433 
    British Sign Language (BSL) video relay service if you’re on a computer - find out how to use the service on mobile or tablet 
    Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm

    yes it worked thanks! It typically took a while for a pip assistant to answer but I had a chat to the Relay assistant whilst waiting.
