edited April 2023 in Universal Credit (UC)
I have been claiming u.c. for a while, along with PIP, I have just had a work capability assessment, the interviewer called a halt after discussing only one of my problems, saying that she could hear my shortness of breath and that was sufficient for her to recommend that I get DLA, This was last week, I was just wondering how long the wait is normally before the notification comes through?

Hi @Pete63 - & welcome to the community. Do you mean that LCW (limited capability for work) was recommended, or LCWRA (limited capability for work & work related activities)? DLA is the Disability Living Allowance.

I had my UC work capability assessment this tue morning (28/03/2023), the interviewer called and said I did a very good job filling my UC50 form, I had 4 extra page of examples attached with the form.
She said I think she had a lot of information, let's make the assessment easier for me, she will not ask me the question that is not related to my condition. And when I answer the questions, she kept saying, it's ok I have enough information I need.
Anyway, after that I haven't receive any message form DWP said they receive the report (I received the message 2 hours after I had the PIP assessment last week).
Then yesterday morning (less than 48 hours after the assessment), I received email titled "UC notification", said I need to read a message in my Universal Credit journal. And there is a letter (UCD81) on the journal, said I am in the LCWRA group.
Still waiting for the PIP assessment result I did last week, fingers cross.

it is supposed to be unfit for work, the lady at c.a.b. who helped fill in the form thought I should have at least 50 points. whatever that means.

I was a bit confused at the telephone assessment, only my heart condition was discussed, as after about 1/2 an hour the assessor said that she could hear me getting short of breath and that she had all she needed to recommend that I got the allowance, the thing is that there are other issues, including numbness and cramps in my hands, pain in my shoulders that I have been prescribed codine for, as well as having to take antidepressants, because of my situation, I am just wondering if she could have got the full picture from what we talked about.

It’s perfectly normal not to ask about all your health conditions. They will only ask about things if they don’t have enough of information.
The time to tell them about all your conditions is when filling out the form.
