Hi all,
I’m 46 and have four children all with either Adhd or autism or both. My kids are 19,16, 9 and 6.
I’ve spent nearly the last year trying to battle for my 16 yr old to get into a specialist setting, (they’ve been at home since July 2022) and I’m currently
feeling Exhausted with it all. I am a person who needs alone time on a regular basis and I also find it hard to get things done with other people in the house. I’m audhd with ptsd and fibromyalgia. We have no family help - my partners family are useless and my family - my dad passed away 2021, I can’t even say I’ve been able to grieve as there’s been so much going on. My mum is a narcissist so had to cut her off before she began abuse on my younger kids, my older kids won’t see why so there’s always friction there. Lately she’s been manipulating my 16 yr old suggesting she go out clubbing and other inappropriate things and also has had her trying to bully me over the state of our home and copying my mum’s tactics. So I’m not feeling great about anything atm.

Thanks if you read this epic!

Hi @itry76 I am sorry you are finding things so difficult. Have you managed to get you 16 year old sorted or is it still a battle? Do you have any help at all?

@Beaver79 thanks for replying. I have someone to come to meetings with me about the kids, but no other help. I got her through the Adhd process in the end but due to school lying about the severity of her problems they won’t provide medication, it has been a huge blow for both of us.

I’m going to get back in touch I think. They told me how to apply for
the ehcp which was helpful, but we are about thirty weeks in to the ehcp process… it should’ve been finalised by December

Hopefully, it will be finalised soon @itry76. It is a really lengthy process, isn't it? Please don't hesitate to let us know if you have any questions along the way or anything we can do to support you with any of this  :)
