On 22 March, Geraint Davies MP, Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Speech and Language Difficulties, led a debate on the specialist workforce for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
In the debate, MPs from all parties highlighted the issues affecting the specialist workforce and called on the Government to work with the #SENDInTheSpecialists coalition to help resolve them.
In addition, many MPs also raised access to speech and language therapy and the importance of spoken language and communication skills.

And parent advocate, Steve Hermon, has done a thread too:

The Royal College Of Speech and Language Therapists is very grateful to Geraint and his parliamentary colleagues for initiating and taking part in this powerful debate.
We were especially pleased to hear Minister, Claire Coutinho, state that she is ‘particularly passionate’ about access to speech and language therapy.
We look forward to working with her and her colleagues - and our coalition partners - to help address the issues raised in the debate, including on the need to improve access to speech and language therapy for those children and young people and their families who require it.
