edited April 2023 in Universal Credit (UC)
Hi, I’m not sure if I can do this on the website but needing help. I am disabled and unable to work. Currently on PIP and the LCWRA of university credit and my partner has just moved in.

my partner does work and I understand I’ll probably get less money but I was supposed to get a payment this Monday (17th) but since we made the joint claim today I can’t see the upcoming Monday payment on my journal anymore. Will I still be getting paid on Monday? It is past the assessment dates I’m just curious as it’s no longer showing on my journal.

Hi, I have been on universal credit including the LCWRA part for the past year and just this week my partner moved in. We were told we had to make a joint claim even if they work (as they do) so we did and my old payments etc as a single claimant on my online journal are no longer showing on the new joint claim journal.

i was just wondering as I was due to receive a payment on Tuesday, 17th and it’s no longer showing on my journal. Will I still receive this payment? It was past the assessment dates my partner moved in anyway so assumin I would still be paid but unsure. Thanks

You will still receive your usual money on 17th.
When your partner made a claim for UC and both claims were linked together this removes all the information on your journal, such as the statements etc.

Whether there’s any entitlement going forward will depend on your Joint circumstances. You can use a benefits calculator and put both your details into it and it will tell you if there’s any entitlement. https://www.entitledto.co.uk/benefits-calculator

Thanks for your comment. I’m very relieved I’ll still be receiving my
payment. Is this because it was past the last assessment date or would it already have been processed anyway? With the payment just 4-5 days would it already be on way to my account anyway and can’t suddenly revoke it due to the new joint claim? Sorry just very worried

Your UC entitlement is based on the last day of your assessment period.
If you reported the changes after this then this is why you’ll be entitled to your usual payment this month.

Hello @lebarel96 and a warm welcome to our online community, how are you today?

Just to let you know, I merged your threads into one and moved this into our Universal Credit category, as I can see Poppy has kindly answered your question. If you are unsure about anything else, please give us a shout.

Wishing you and your partner a lovely time living together!

Poppy - I deleted one comment of yours as after the merge, it was disjointed (advising the member you had responded on their other thread) Hope this avoids any confusion.

    Hi Lebarel96,

As you get PIP and LCWRA is your partner claiming the carers element part of UC? all he has to do is be with you 35 a week, its £168 and some pennies on top of your UC, hope this helps

Thanks for this, i totally overlooked the carers element. Just to add a little more information, to claim carers element lebarel needs to be claiming daily living PIP (LCWRA is irrelevant) and their partner needs to care for them for at least 35 hours/week, you don't actually have to be with them for this amount of time.
