How are you feeling about how the assessment went @wood73? I notice you found it hard but wondering how you are feeling now it is done  :)

well I am hopeful, I'm pretty sure I got my difficulties across but you can never tell what they will say in the report.
You read so many stories of the report not correlating with the assessment it does have me worried.

How many pages does the report run to?
I've requested a copy of it and he said its over 19 pages long!

PA4 reports (if you had an assessment) are about 25 pages long.
PA3 reports for paper based assessments aren’t as long and have about 18 pages.

Received my assessment report this morning and there are a few inconsistencies.
In the SOH he reports I require assistance help to get in and out of the bath or shower and require help to wash my lower body, yet in the descriptor he has ticked needs to use an aid or appliance.

In the SOH it says needs help to get off the toilet yet the descriptor is ticked needs to use an aid or appliance.

Soh says does not like to engage with strangers or initiate conversation due to anxiety but will respond if he has to, descriptor is ticked can engage unaided!

And then there is the complete lie, when he asked how far I could walk I said after 10 or so paces I cannot continue due to severe pain yet in the SOH he says I can manage 8-10 metres but sometimes depending on time of day I can manage 40-50 metres.

So as it stands he has recommended 8 points for daily living and 10 points for mobility whereas reading the SOH it should in my opinion be 13 points for daily living and without the lie 12 for mobility

There a couple of other bits that are inconsistent but they wouldn't gain any extra points anyway.

So although it does recommend an award I will be appealing when the decision comes.

Hi @wood73 I'm sorry to hear the report doesn't reflect what's happening day to day. Remember it's only a recommendation, and the decision maker will be taking into account your PIP form as well as any evidence you've sent in. Although it's rare, decision makers do sometimes go against the report.

Whatever the outcome in the decision letter, we'll be here to support you, and please do reach out if you need to in the meantime :)

Thank you, yes it is a relief but after receiving a copy of my assessment report I believe I should have got enhanced mobility, so I am in the process of writing a request for mandatory reconsideration.

Good morning good luck, there’s not a lot get changed at MR I think it’s about 23% but appeal is much higher at over 70%.
Saying that a few years ago I got my mobility changed from standard to enhanced at MR.

    Good luck.

Ok I have sent off the letter asking for a MR, I have focused on a vague comment in the assessors report which says " he can sometimes manage 40-50 meters" which is what I was scored on.
I have broken down the descriptor into the reliably safely repeatedly and timely manner as stated in the assessors guide and also quoted from this.
I do remain somewhat hopeful but am ready to accept rejection and move forward to tribunal.

My husband had his phone assessment today, he asked for it to be recorded and they said they weren't capable of doing that , they said he could record it himself but he didn't know how to ☹️

It’s not a surprise that the decision didn’t change because the majority of MR decisions don’t. Only 23% of them do and that’s quite low.
