Hi Everyone I recieved my wca decision today and was placed in the lcwra group i first handed in a doctors fit note on 1st oct 2022 to 30th April 2023. I get uc 1st of every month. Just after advice if i will be owed any back pay for lcwra please Thanks

There's a full 3 month assessment period waiting time and the extra money is paid from the 4th month after you first reported your health condition/sent your first fit note.

If the 1st Oct was the same date you reported your health condition then your waiting period will be Oct to Jan.. LCWRA starts from Jan/Feb assessment period and first payment will be 1st March. This means up to now they owe you 2 months LCWRA element.

Any money owed will be paid separately to your usual monthly money and often takes a few weeks to pay what is owed.

Please note this is assuming you're not claiming UC with a partner that already receives the LCWRA element on your claim.

Thanks for reply Poppy was first reported 26th sept 2022 but fit note didnt go in till 1st oct the day my doctor did it for me

That's a shame you didn't report it at the start of your September assessment period, if you had then your first payment would have been Jan 1st. It will be down to a decision maker to make the final decision whether to pay it from either Jan or Feb.
