Someone claiming LCWRA element of UC doesn't qualify anyone to claim either carers allowance or carers element of UC. For this the disabled person needs to be claiming either PIP daily living or DLA mid/high rate care.If they are claiming a qualifying disability benefit then someone else can claim either carers allowance (if entitled) or carers element of UC providing they care for that person for at least 35 hours per week. They can also refer themselves for a needs assessment from their local Authority. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/social-care-and-support-guide/help-from-social-services-and-charities/getting-a-needs-assessment/

Hi I get high rate pip on both components could I employ a company once I've moved out with the carers component of uc to help me or not and would the money come to me or the company?0

No, you will not be able to claim carers element for yourself. Unfortunately, that's not how it works. If you haven't already then you should refer yourself for a needs assessment.Once this is done it will determine whether there's any help out there for you and whatthey will pay towards that care. You will also need a financial assessment to determine what you'll need to pay towards the help you receive.0

Hi one more question for now poppy how do uc know you were on lcwra on a joint claim and move it on to a single when the time comes how does that work I've got my awards letter on my phone?0

As long as you have copies of the decision letter for your work capability assessment then you'll be fine. If needed you can show them copies of that.

I have the decision letter downloaded on my phone I'm also going to ring and ask for a hard copy will that be good enough?0

You don't need a hard copy because UC is a digitial claim and you have access to a journal and they don't send letters by post. The copy you have on your phone is fine.
