Reduced Capability for Work - what happens when I retire

Hi everyone, good to be here. At the moment I work 2 days a week, after suffering a stroke 4 years ago and 18 months ago I was deemed to have a Reduced Capability for Work when I tried to go back to work.  I will retire in 2 years time. At the moment I get a top up of my universal credit with £354 a month plus I get to keep £345 of my salary before it being deducted for benefit purposes. This helps me pay my rent as I have to rent privately and to keep a car. I worry what will happen when I retire. As this benefit or extra UC is connected to my earnings, will all of it disappear when I retire? I will not be able to stay in my accommodation. I know I will get pension credits but not how much.

Hello @Haironu and a warm welcome to the community.
In order for me to advise you better, could I ask a couple of questions?
Do you currently receive PIP or any other benefits?
Is your UC claim a single claim?

Just to add further to this. If it's a joint claim is your partner younger or older than you?
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

Hi Adrian and thank you for replying. I have no other benefits just Universal Credit and the Reduced Capability for Work and I’m on my own.

This means then when you reach state pension age your UC will stop. You will need to make sure you apply for your state pension, you will be able to do this 4 months before you reach state pension age.

If you need to claim for help with any rent then you'll need to claim housing benefit. Whether there's any entitlement to Pension Credit will depend how much your state pension is and what other income you will receive at that time.
