How does a payment from RIDC for research affect benefits and work rules

I have been asked to take part in some research for RIDC but I do not know if this would affect my contributory ESA and the work capability rules. As a payment is made for taking part and also involves travelling for a few hours. Will I need to contact the DWP and advise them of this research. Thank You.

Hello there @carolten and thanks for reaching out, I'm not entirely sure on the answer for this myself, so for now I've moved your post into our Benefits and Financial Support category, where it'll be easier for our members to share their thoughts.Online Community Coordinator
