Hello. I have been seriously unwell with hearing problems for the past year, and applied. For pip in october. Its april and I have had to jump through so many hoops, they rejected my claim and the assessment PIP lady did not take me seriously and misheard everuthing I said. I had to do Mandatory Reconsideration, and now I have to wait another few months for a tribunal? And i had to pick up a part time job, where I sufferef greatly from pain and was fired from after two months, and the DWP is using this against me. I dont know what to do-there are so many things that would help me and Pip wld really improve my quality of life, but ghe government doesng care about me. They dont. They do not want to help me truly. It makes me miserably upset and i wish i had never been born.

Hello @usami777 and thanks for reaching out today, can I confirm that you've appealed to Tribunal?
I'm sorry to hear that you lost your job, do you feel that you were unfairly dismissed?
I'd like to reassure you that the PIP award has nothing to do with work, it's awarded based on the PIP descriptors, so the things you do day to day at home or outside of work. Lots of people who claim PIP also work at the same time.
Having your MR refused can be a real knockback, and so it's understandable that this impacts on your mental health and wellbeing. Have you spoken to anyone about how you've been feeling, such as a trusted loved one, or your GP?
Speaking to your GP can help you access support you might need, especially if you feel like you're struggling with things day to day. Are you being supported for pain management too?0 -
@Alex_Scope . I have appealed to a tribunal, and am currently waiting for a hearing, but I am so worried. I will probably have to wait a couple months for it,and the money would have helped me now. I applied in last October.
I think the job was not right for me-it was so noisy and overstimulating, but I desperately wanted to have money to support myself.
My GP is really overstretched, and they gave me some pain medicine ,but it doesnt work. I am too nervous to go back and ask for a better medicine as the waiting time fkr an appointment is really lomg and the hold music upsets me.
I just feel terrible.0 -
Hi again @usami777 thanks for explaining things, I'm sorry to hear you're feeling terrible. Do you think you'd be able to see your local pharmacist and explain how you're feeling, and why it's difficult to speak to your GP?
Is there anyone who could ring the surgery on your behalf to ask about different pain meds?
It would be easier if your surgery offered email consultations, but I know that's not something that's offered everywhere.
It's positive to hear that you have applied for tribunal, and I hope it won't be too long until you hear more from them. If you feel we can do more to help at the moment, please don't hesitate to ask
