edited April 2023 in Universal Credit (UC)
Hi, I recently got my assessment back saying I’m in the LCWRA category (21st April 2023) and my UC assessment period is from 10th April to the 9th of May. I’m just wondering whether the LCWRA payment will be added on my next statement? I get paid on the 16th. Any help would be great, thanks

Also I first handed in a fit note in August 2022

Yes it should. You should also be entitled to backdated arrears from December-January.

LCWRA is part of UC and will increase your maximum UC entitlement by £390.06/month (annual increase amount) £354.28/month before the increase.

New style ESA is a completely different benefit. Whether you're entitled to it will depend on your NI contributions in tax years 2020/21 and 2021/22. You will need to have worked at some point during those tax years. You will not be financially better off by claiming as it's deducted in full from any UC entitlement.

However, if entitled then it will be worth claiming it because it's not means tested like UC is. You will also receive class 1 NI credits from this, where as for UC it's only class 3. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/new-style-employment-and-support-allowance#eligibility
