LCWRA

I was awarded LCWRA from 20/01/23. I’ve been told I’ll receive a payment after 18/06/23. Surely that’s 6 months? I’m so confused.

It will depend on what date exactly you reported your health condition/sent your first fit note and what date you usually receive your money each month.0

That was when I applied for universal credit. I was still working. But on sick. I sent notes in from October 22.0

And I receive my UC on 24th0

If you sent your first fit note when you first applied for UC In October and continued to send them without any gaps until a decision was made on your WCA. Then your waiting period will be. Oct to Jan.. LCWRA starts from assessment period 18th Jan to 17thFeb and first payment should have been Feb 24th.If there were gaps in your fit notes then it can affect when the extra money is paid from. The above advice assumes you’re not claiming UC with a partner that already receives the LCWRA element on your claim.0

No sorry. I’m not being clear. I started sending sick notes to UC on 18th Jan. before that I was on working tax credit. I was awarded LWRCA from 20th Jan. my payments are between 18th and 17th monthly. I’ve not received any LWRCA as of yet. I do get normal UC.0

You said you usually receive your payments on 24th of every month. This means your assessment periods are 18th to 17th of every month. If 20th Jan was the same date you reported your health condition as well as send your first fit note then your waiting period will be.Feb to May...LCWRA starts from 18th May to 17th June and first payment will be June 24th. This is because it's 3 full assessment periods and it's then paid from the 4th month after you reported your health condition/sent your first fit note.1

They don't usually allow a fit note to be backdated. It will likely go from when you sent the fit note. Although it's 3 full assessment periods anyway so it will depend on what dates your assessment periods cover. (or what date you usually receive your money each month)

Yes but that doesn't mean a decision maker will agree to accept the backdated fit note when it comes to the waiting period for LCWRA.
