Pip change of circumstances in health.
hi everyone I’m new here I just wanted a bit of advice, I get standard rate of both care and mobility but my health has deteriorated over the past year so I filled in a change of circumstances form in December 2022 and had my assessment yesterday over the phone she stated that she is putting my application and assessment as high risk and said I should be on higher rate of both and will send to decision maker so I was just wondering will there be any back pay if I’m awarded higher rate? I first started getting pip in october 2021

High risk could mean there will be a vulnerable marker on your file. She shouldn't have said anything to you about any possible award because it's not their decision to make and not their job to do that.

Now the assessment is completed she will write the report and return it to DWP. This report will be her opinion based on everything you sent and what you said during your assessment.

A decision maker will then look at everything, including the report and make a decision. Once the decision is made you will be contacted.

If the award is higher then it will not be backdated to when you first started claiming PIP. It will be from the date you rang to report the changes.

Decisions can take anything up to 12 weeks once the report is returned.
