Hi I’m new to this pip thing hope someone can help me you see I’ve put a new claim in I’ve had my telephone assessment and I’ve been waiting for an answer so today I phoned pip and and asked them for an update they said just received medical records from my doctor so i said can you tell me if I have any points up to now she said yes you have 13 for daily living which is enhanced and your mobility is still on going so does this mean I have it and can she say that thank you for listening

I don't understand how the person you spoke to will know because if there's any points recommended in the report they are not added up. The only person that can award points is a decision maker and this won't be done until a decision made. Once a decision is made it's made, it won't be part made. You need to wait until you have that decision which can be anything up to about 12 weeks once the report was returned.1

No the day I phoned them for an update which was Wednesday and told me I had 13 points the very next day they phoned me and told me I’ve been awarded the high rate daily living rate but nothing for the mobility said I can appeal but might lose points on my daily living so don’t know whether it’s worth it0

Oh i see, in your first comment going by what you said, it seemed like you were still waiting for a decision. As you said you rang them for an update today but as it was Sunday it seemed odd.You can challenge that decision by requesting the Mandatory Reconsideration. (MR) You should put this in writing stating where and why you think you should have scored those points. If you don't fully understand the PIP descriptors then it will be worth getting some expert advice from an agency near you to check it's possible to score enough points needed for a mobility award, not everyone qualifies for mobility. The most likely outcome of any MR will be the decision remains the same. If this happens you can then request the Tribunal.0
