Hello, I’m hoping so can gain some clarity.
I applied for UC in March of this year and received my first payment in April. From the onset, I notified them of health conditions which is Emotionally unstable personality disorder, PTSD, severe depression and Anxiety. I started handing in fit notes from last month too as requested. I submitted a letter from my psychiatrist to my work coach which details my difficulties. From there a UC50 notification was triggered and my work coach said I should ignore it as I don’t need to fill the form just wait for an assessment.

Is this correct? I’m thinking to just fill the form just in case as so far there has been a lot of back and forth with information not always being correct from them.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

That's very poor advice you've had from your work coach! You should definitely not ignore the form when you receive it. You will need to fill it in and return it by the date on the letter. You will also need to send any supporting evidence with the form.Once they receive it then an assessment will be most likely as most people have them. These are mostly by telephone but some are face to face and video call.If it was me then i'd consider putting in a complaint about the advice from your work coach.0

Thank you for the speedy response!Yes my instincts knew it wasn’t right. The jobcentre I’m at is really all over the place it’s like nobody knows. I was going to put in a complaint because they messed up my housing element too. I think now is the time to do it.I’ve been reading a lot on this forum and an assessment seems like the logical way. I’ve not seen anything about not filling in forms.I will fill in the form. I will have to do this online and then print it as that what works for me.Thanks again!0
