Hello everyone,
my name is yellow786flower (aka Nasima) I got help with filling in my pip application form via the benefit advisor at the Citizen Advice Bureau in my local town, the advisor lady there took a copy of the pip application form for there office and she gave one to me..I sent it off in February 28th 2023  with all my hospital notes and Gp, the senior nurse and the consultant am seeing regarding my torn rotator cuff on my right shoulder plus all my medications that am currently taking for my Asthma, diabetes, heart condition and my blood thinners warfarin and my heparin injections plus my yellow book that I carry with me however I was given a telephone assessment last Tuesday the 16th May in the morning that was late as it was scheduled for 9am the independent assess called Zoe rang at 9.24am the line of questioning was very invasive embarrassing, she did ask me what the clencil was I told her that was my new inhaler that the GP prescribed and she ask me what is was for I told her for my asthma and then she ask how much do I take I told her 2 puffs a day in the morning and evening.. she asked me about my diabetes reading which I told her as I have to take readings before my breakfast and after so 8 times per day then she ask me about my blood pressure I told her it was 155/94 hmm 🤔 that confused me.. my telephone assessment lasted for 1 hour and 8mins and before she came off the phone she ask if there was anything else I wanted to add anything else, then she said she will be sending the report to on to the DWP but she couldn’t give me a recording of my assessment because she didn’t have any equipment but I kept on hearing clicking noises do you know what is that all about

I was just so exhausted with all the random questions she asked if I had any pets which I told her no if I drive which I told her I don’t , then she then went on to medications then straight into about my mobility, my toiletries needs & bathing, this I found very embarrassing and invasive it felt my dignity was shattered then she ask if I did any activities.. I found it so hard to keep track even though I took notes and had all my paperwork together, at one point I had to ask her to repeat what she’d ask, it felt she was rushing me and I was by myself..it was so scary.

id appreciate if anyone can tell me how long it will take for my pip assessment to be finalised and when will I be awarded.

finally I tried calling them today was on the phone for hours as they said today was a good day to called them from 10am and 4pm but I kept on hearing a automated voice and music ?? What’s going on??

How do I ask for my telephone assessment copy of my  report that I had with one of there independent asses ?

Kind Regards

Nasima (yellow786flower )

They do not record the assessment unless you ask them to. The clicking you heard was very likely to be the assessor typing during the assessment.

Its perfectly normal to be asked many different questions about your health condition during the assessment. Many people find it rather invasive but unfortunately it’s all part of the assessment. They do this to gather more evidence to support your claim.

Once the assessment report is returned to DWP a decision can take anything up to about 12 weeks. No one can predict whether you will be awarded.

Once the decision is made you will be contacted.

To request a copy of the report you need to ring PIP. Yes, it can often take a while for someone to answer and you will hear music while you wait. Very often the best time to ring them is as soon as they open at 9am.

Please also be aware that when you request the report, it’s not the decision. It’s a recommendation only.
