Hello, I have recently been awarded LCWRA.
my assessment period runs from 28th to the 27th.
I put my first fit note in on 25th January 2023 and that is the same day they made me the referral.
They sent me a letter recently on the 22nd may saying I was being put on lcwra. My first payment of this is on the 3rd of June. Will I be eligible for a backpayment as it's been just over 3 months since they referred me? Thank you!

There's a full 3 month assessment period waiting time and the extra money is paid from the 4th month after you reported your health condition/sent your first fit note. The LCWRA element is not paid at all during this time.Based on the information you gave your waiting period will be Jan to April..LCWRA starts from AP 28th April to 27th May and first payment is 3rd June. No LCWRA element is owed.If you or a partner were receiving any earnings from working since you reported your health condition and you didn't previously have the work allowance then they may owe you some money from that.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

Your three month waiting period ended on 25th April. The LCWRA element is first payment for period of 28th April to 27th May. Your LCWRA element payment should therefore be included in your payment on 3rd June. Check your UC statement period when it appears on your journal.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Rules may be different in other parts of UK.
