Hi @Globster have you spoken to wheelchair services in the NHS about what's been happening?
It might be that the control pad on your chair just needs some maintenance, to help keep the golf ball in place. How long have you been using it, if I can ask?0 -
Hello Alex
I make contact my local wheelchair service in the morning tomorrow
I have the golf ball since I had got the chair in has a few years0 -
Okay @Globster thanks for explaining I think a bit of wear and tear might be expected after that long with daily use.
I've had my chair for a few years now and there's a few worn out bits, like the charger hole cover, it's a bit loose, but still usable.
Hopefully when you talk to wheelchair services, they will be able to help sort this.
Let us know how you get on as and when!0 -
Lost the golf ball on mine too, just steer with the little stick!0

As a matter of fact I was going to replace the missing ball, but stopped when I realised I find it easier to use just the stalk. Guess it just depends on individuals. If I did replace the ball, I was going to glue on a golf ball sized firm foam ball which happens to be suitable for the job, but more comfortable to my fingers than the hard plastic supplied. (It is a mini-globe)
If you are happy with the golf ball, you could use any strong glue
This chair is a second hand one so I can adapt it as I like, and I removed the controller from the armrest. It is tucked down the side of the (two) wheelchair cushions. That way, it lets my hand stay safely next to my leg, instead of being stuck out at a peculiar extreme where both the hand and the controller get all the bashing from doorways and passers-by, and the hand gets cold. Wheelchairs are not designed by users. Above all, they do not have suspension. People who use wheelchairs because of damaged spines need the best suspension available, but get no shock -absorbing at all. Every jolt, especially from the casters, damages the already damaged spines. Not clever.0 -
