Hi, a while back my wife was awarded the low mobilty rate ( 11e, 10 points )..due to her not being able to leave the house. She is making some progress now where she is able to leave the house, but not on her own. I have to be with her at all times outside of the house. Would i be assuming she has now moved into 11 f ?.Would she be able to possibly get the higher rate of mobility now ?.

It will depend on how often she’s able to leave the house. If she’s unable to for the majority of the time then 11E will still apply.1

Hi Poppy..if she can leave the house on the majority days of the week then what do we do ?..is there a chance if we contact pip on these changes she could move into 11f,or lose the whole thing ?0

It’s the majority of days over a 12 month period that counts. How long has she been able to do this? The changes must have taken place at least 3 months ago and expect to last at least a further 9 months.I’d advise you to get some expert advice from an agency near you before doing anything else. There’s always some risk of losing your current award when reporting changes.0

prob the last 4-6 mths shes able to go out on the majority of the days of the week, though during us being out we have to return home at times due to her condition.0

hi..i had a chat with Citizens' advice and the guy i was speaking too said that because my wife can physically walk more that 25 mts then shes on the right award ( irregardless of her mental health )..is that right ?..do many folk get the high rate with mental health ?0

That's terrible advice you've been given from CA. Yes, people do claim Enhanced mobility for mental health reasons for following and planning a journey. Unless she's claiming for physical reasons as well then it won't be possible to score points in the moving around part anyway. It really depends on how often she can go out. If she goes out at night then this doesn't count.

Hi Poppy..thank you so much for that..do you know of anyone else i could call on this mater and also if we went forward and contacted pip and theres the possibility of losing the award..do you mean the mobility part,or both mobility and daily living0

When you report changes they will send more forms out for you to fill in and return. Another assessment is most likely and they will assess the whole claim and not just part of it. Once a decision is made the award could either stay the same, be increased, decreased or stop completely.
