.Hello there All,
I had my pip assessment last month on 3/05/23.
Yesturday I had letter stating that I'm not eligible for pip. And 0 points score.
I do have serious illness and disability , but they decided that I'm perfectly well.
Please advise me on what should I do?
I see somewhere in the forum something about welfare advisor???
Please advise.
Thank you in advance

Hi @Bultico
I'm sorry to hear that you received zero points, it can be extremely frustrating but I'm sure our community can help.
You'll need to complete a mandatory reconsideration (MR) in the first instance to challenge this decision. A good tip is for filling this in, is to look at the PIP descriptors to identify which activities you think you should have scored points on. Once this is clear, you need to give reasons in the MR why you believe you should have scored points, alongside some examples of what happened the last time you tried this activity (including details about who was there, where you were and what would have happened without support).
Also, you can speak with a welfare advisor for free. To find an organisation close to you, visit the Advice Local website, entering your postcode and selecting 'welfare benefits' from the drop down list. A list of places nearby will be at the bottom of the following screen.
Try and stay positive and we'll help you get through this.0 -
Should I call DWP for the assessment report?
I do have to start from somewhere.
The citizen advice is just a waste of time, the lady I have been in touch was completely incompetent. (Sorry but is true, it turn out I know more than her)
So please, should I call DWP for the report?

Hello BulticoYou can request a copy of your assessment report but I would not use that as a basis of your Mandatory Reconsideration letter. It is the descision you are asking for reconsideration on and not the assessment. Do not focus on the descion letter or inaccuracies because that will not get you PIP. Do not telephone to start your Mandatory Reconsideration it is best to write a detailed letter giving detailed accurate personal written evidence as to why you cannot complete the 12 PIP Activities that apply to you reliably. You have 1 month from the descision letter to send in your MR Letter but you also have 13 months from the descision letter to submit your MR letter if you have good reason (for example your disability or mental health).I wrote a lengthy reply on another forum post that you might find usefull for your MR letter also and it can be found here https://forum.scope.org.uk/discussion/comment/680205/#Comment_680205Hope that helpsNasturtium
