Does that mean when i finally give birth they'll stop asking me to look for work and go to job centre? I'm due exactly a week from today i think it is unfair they keep asking me to look as if anyone is going to hire me!!!

Oh my goodness, that’s incredibly sad! I’m so sorry to hear that!

Please have a look at claiming bereavement support payment. See link https://www.gov.uk/bereavement-support-payment/eligibility

    Hi @Fragile

I can see you've had some detailed helpful responses, and I just wanted to check-in from an emotional perspective and see how you're coping with the bereavement of your husband? Saying sorry doesn't seem sufficient for what you've been through. Life can be exceedingly unfair sometimes, take it one day at a time.

Please lean on your GP and midwife, as and when you feel you need support, and also remember that organisations such as CRUSE are about to help talk through the grief you might still be processing.

We've sent you a PM, so if you have time give that a read and get back to us if you wish. All the best for now, and if you need us, just shout  <3

    • Your UC amount seems wrong.
I can't see where OP says how much UC they are getting so I can't see how we can see whether they are getting the right amount. (I'm probably being stupid and it's staring in front of me!)
    • Your work search should have been turned off when you were 29 weeks pregnant. You do not have to complete any work related activities or work search from 29 weeks, if they are making you than this is wrong.
UC also cannot impose any work search activity for a 6 month period following the death of husband.

paragraph J3192 onwards, J3200 deals with bereavement.
(I agree with you bit I can't find the paragraph needing with pregnancy. Appalled that OP has been asked to ask for work when they are excluded on two grounds.)

Well done on finding the NCC1/19 form. I would still suggest that OP check with Case Manager.

Does anyone know if I could claim bereavement payment or widow parent allowance I saw them mentioned but there isn't much information?

To get the full amount you need to claim within 3 months of the death. I infer that you haven't so I think that means that you will get less than 18 monthly payments.

On the first page she says: "My husband was earning very well 6 figures and we didn't claim anything and now I'm trying to pay everything by myself on just 1490 a month and it is impossible."
Thanks biblioklept, I can see it down! I agree that 5 child elements must a single person allowance comes to £1762/month without any possible additions for disability, caring or housing - but obviously we don't know whether there are any deductions.

Will the bereavement support be deducted from my UC?

I wasn't lying about my UC this is what I get

    Standard allowance 368.74

    Children 1120.74

You get support for 4 of your 5 children. (I think because our eldest is not my biological child I don't get UC for them)

    Total entitlement before deductions 1489.48

If your child with DLA gets care component at least mid rate you could be claiming the carer element of UC which would give you extra £185.86/month and be claiming a disabled child element for her at the lower or higher rate (£146.31 or £456.89).

I don’t think that not being a non biological parent should not get you getting a UC child element for that child.
