Medical records evidence

Hi all. 

I have my PIP review and I’m filling in the forms. I asked my GP when I received the text about my review and have been waiting over 2 weeks for my medical records dated from my original PIP application to now however, the receptionist this morning has told me they are taking up to 9 months to give people their records even though it should be 28 days. I’m really worried that not having them will hinder my review. I have some letters from my rheumatologist and some physio appointments letters but the rest is on my records. I have looked on the NHS app and can only access any appointments or letters (which I will be printing) from February this year meaning there’s over 2 years of records I won’t be able to send. 

So my question is, does anyone know if I can send them separately once acquired or if there is something else I can do to obtain them? Will it go against my claim if I can’t send them? Thank you

Is there anything in those records that’s relevant to how your conditions affect you? For evidence less is often more. 

You can also send extra evidence later. They very rarely contact anyone for any evidence.

You could maybe put in a freedom of information request and I think this has to be completed within 20 days. What I done was emailed each hospitals PALS team and requested it through them rather than the doctor as he wanted to charge me £100 for MY medical records. I got mine back from hospitals within 30 days, all scans on a disk and appointments. 

Once you send your application, you are allowed to continue to upload evidence using the link you just can't change your actual application.

Hi, I am able to go into my GP surgery and have any assessment, clinical letter, prescription list, referral letter etc printed off and handed to me there and then.  Would your surgery do this?  That way perhaps you could pick a handful of documents essential to your application and have those printed off.  Sending in your entire medical records would probably not be necessary to the application.

I think they may be a little but I wanted to read them to double check. The rheumatologist letters I have are most important though so it’s a relief I have those.

Thank you, this is helpful. I’ll see what they say about this. My review is all paper based so I don’t have any links. Would I be able to post more evidence if I receive it?

Unfortunately not, my surgery is very unhelpful and the people in the offices/on reception are very abrasive to say the least.

Reviews are not online applications, they are paper only.

Would I be able to post more evidence if I receive it?

As I previously advised, you can send more evidence at a later date.
