Just an update i received my report back today and from what i can see i scored 25 on the daily living and 22 on the mobility part...so it looks like i may get enhanced on both parts..quick question i dont have a formal disability diagnosis yet...if i do get higher on both would i now be correct in saying i am disabled...i can tick i have a disability box on things like housing etc ? Also has anyone scored as high as me and still been refused or recieved the lower rate ?

It's rare they go against the report but it can happen. Mostly they go with it. Yes you can tick disabled and you don't need a PIP award to tick that box.
The definition is set out in section 6 of the Equality Act 2010. It says you’re disabled if:
    • you have a physical or mental impairment
    • your impairment has a substantial and long-term adverse effect on your ability to do normal day-to-day activities

    Hi,

I have today received my PIP report ( it was sent out on 4th May! ).

I am going to be receiving the same standard daily allowance, til October 2025, which I am happy about. However the lies in the report, saying I don't get any special mental health input, that I can plan & follow a journey ( I can't, I very rarely go out & when I do I'm always accompanied, just makes me so angry. Who do these people think they are?! I guess that's the DWP for you,and I am a lot more fortunate than others.

I did get a bit confused when it says that I will hear from them after 16th October 2024,but is that because they can contact you up to a year beforehand?

Have you had the decision as well as the assessment report? For reviews they can contact you anytime from 1 year before the award is due to end.

I realise you said you're happy with the decision but if you fully understand the PIP descriptors and think you should have been awarded the mobility part then you can request the MR.

    Hi @poppy123456,

Yes, that's what I'm going to do. I have got someone from Welfare Rights helping me. Thanks.

Forgot to say,the timescale from phone assessment  (April 17th) to the decision was 17 days,as date on the letter was May 4th. I only received the letter yesterday.

I’m going back to work a couple of hours because my mental health I’m struggling and feel like after 9 months I need to go back couple of hours a week … worried it will be 2 steps forward and 3 miles back! N stressed it will be too much for me, I’m on a phased return light duties for 6 weeks but work still haven’t arranged hours as it will just be 2 hours twice a week. Any advice please

Please read the following if you're experiencing chest pain! Chest pain - NHS (www.nhs.uk)

I had chest pains a few years ago, I went to A&E and after server scans it turns out it was related to stress, but do not assume it's something less serious please. Better safe than sorry.

Please focus on that first and then afterwards I would recommend speaking to your employer about your return to work accomodations. If you feel like it will make you worse off you should inform them, your health should come first.

Thank you, I have and the hospital it’s due to weight gain and the after effects of pnuemonia and pulmonary embolisms … my leg is due to post thrombotic syndrome and they ache after a bit of walking
