Hey scope! I’m just wondering if anyone has and experience with claiming Scottish child disability payment?! I applied on the 15th of January and still haven’t received a decision despite sending loads of supporting evidence from diagnosis letter, clinic application, school letters and school conversations re my son. The last update I had ( mid June) I was told a case manager had picked the case up. Does anyone know how long this stage takes?! It seems like such a long wait 🫠

There's been a very small amount of feedback for ADP but not the child DP. For adults decisions are currently taking several months because of the backlogs. I'm assuming they have backlogs for children too. All you can do is wait unfortunately, once a decision is made you will be contacted.

Hey poppy! Just to let you know that my sons award came through 🙌🏻 5 and a half months. Once it was allocated to a case manager it was pretty quick and hassle free. Do you know how I go about getting the disability element of u.c backdated?! My recent statement has included it but it’s not been backdated to January when his award was from. Thanks, jade0

Great news. It should be backdated to the assessment period in which the CDP was awarded from.
Money owed will be paid separately to your usual monthly money and often takes quite a few weeks to pay it.1 -
Thanks poppy! X0

They will need to recalculate your past statements to work out how much you’ve been paid against what you should have been paid. Once this is done the new statements will replace the existing ones. You may want to take copies of them before they do this.Once it’s done you’ll receive a letter on your journal.0
