What are the chances I will get a paper based assessment for PIP?

I have recently applied for pip and wondered what are the chances I will get a paper based assessment.

I applied for pip by requesting the forms by post as I have communication issues and they sent me them. I haven't once spoken to them on the phone.

As evidence I have included a recent detailed autism assessment report, care needs assessment from Adult care services and a report on my learning difficulties.

I have written on the form requesting a Paper based assessment because of communication issues, My care needs assessment says I struggle with communication and need to communicate in written format.

I have typed out my answers in detail and printed them off, each answer takes up between 1 - 3 pages of A4 paper so is quite detailed.

Thanks

It’s possible but they are rare. I don’t think it’s possible for anyone to predict whether an assessment will be needed.

If an assessment is needed would you be able to attend in person if someone was with you? Face to face assessments can be arranged rather than telephone.

yeah I can have a face to face assessment if someone was with me but then that causes the exact same issue. it is the verbally speaking part that is the issue. I wouldn't be able to answer the questions accurately as I get confused easily.  I speak in written format as it gives me time to think. I can answer basic questions but wouldn't be able to explain the issues I deal with. it has to be written down.

I spoke to IAS today, they said as part of their initial review they will always try to do a paper based review if they have enough evidence.. I’m hoping for the same but let’s see if they deem the info I’ve provided as sufficient

Isn't this a first time claim for you? If so then it won't be a review. Reviews are when you've already got an award in payment. Even for those, paper based assessments are rare.

Hi sorry, when I say initial review, I mean file work stage.. which is when they check to see if a paper  based assessment can be conducted based on the evidence. But yes it’s my first application. I’m using internal WCA terminology (sorry)
