PIP Tribunal waiting game…

Firstly, fantastic forum and great site, really helpful and informative.

So, currently at just under 29 weeks waiting time to have my PIP Tribunal scheduled. It’s proving incredibly frustrating, and I just don’t think it’s a particularly reasonable system when you have to put everything on hold for so long. I’ve had to take an extended period of time off work due to issues, having spinal injections etc, and will be returning to work earlier than I’d like as I can’t survive on half pay. I was hoping things would have resolved (in my favour, obviously!) by now, and the extra money from PIP would have greatly helped.

I suffer from both spinal stenosis and from essential tremor, two seemingly unrelated things that both hit me at the same time a couple of years back. My original PIP claim was successful but I was only awarded standard Daily Living and no mobility. The Daily Living as well had me conveniently at just 1 point under the Enhanced threshold 🤔

MR unsuccessful, as usual, and Tribunal appeal launched December 6th. I have managed to get a couple of email responses to enquiries that I sent, but was told that ‘most’ people are seen within a time frame that for me would be July 4th.
As I’ve yet to even get the case listed, I’m assuming that’s no longer feasible? I have read through some other cases on here, but would be interested in other peoples experiences. Was the wait worth it? I’m dealing with the Bradford centre.

Thanks for reading a longer than planned post 😊

I don’t think it’s relevant to the Tribunal appeal, as they only base their decision on the information available at the time. Since my original award, I’ve had multiple MRI’s, spinal injections, x-rays, physio etc, none of which can be regarded as relevant 🙁

That's not correct. If it's related to how your conditions affected you at the time the decision was made then you can send the evidence. What they can't take into consideration is a worsening of condition.

Hi @Ollyoyster not long to go, I can imagine it must be a nervy wait! We're here if you need to vent or chat about anything in the lead up :)

I hope everything goes well for you, what's the expected outcome, do you know?

Thankyou 😊 i have no idear about how the outcome will be, as i have heard so many people been rejected, some stories are horrific. All i can do is be honest, show them my evidence and see what happens 🙄 i guess a lot of it depends on the day, i have my orthopedic surgeon appointment next week, so i guess this is new evidence once the surgeon says what he is going to do?? X
