Help slugs in kitchen

For a year we have battled with slugs in the kitchen and they seem to be coming in from the back door and the washing machine pipe thing ( we don't have a washing machine so it's easy for the slugs to get through)
We have tried a few things like copper to no avail. We were suggested by my aunt to put beer traps out as they love beer but being on benefits were we have very little money after bills and most packs of beer around here are around a fiver which is a lot of money to us.
And I've seen videos were some slugs were able to get out of the trap so I'm unsure on that method.
Salt is obviously really cheap but it's cruel to them and I've read it can attract mice so cautious on that.
I was thinking maybe if I just block were there coming in that will stop them won't it?
If I put some mesh wife over the washing pipe thing so they can't get in and cover the bottom of the door then if they can't get in that should be the best method?
What do you think if I cover any holes and make sure they can't get in that will stop the problem?

I would suggest covering any access points if possible.
There's lots of old suggestions about keeping slugs away my grandad use to put shingle around his veg plots to keep slugs and snails away. However I understand not wanting them in your property and agree the best option is to cover up any access points if they are not being used.1 -
You may find they will still come in even after blocking the areas you think they come in from. Many years ago I used to find slugs trails in the living room but there wasn’t really anywhere that was obvious as to where they were coming from.If you don’t have pets then put some slug pellets down. If you do have pets then you can buy pellets that are pet friendly. They are a little more expensive but you get quite a lot in the box because I use them in the garden.0

Surly if I block all entry points then if they are still coming in it means there has to be entry points I've not found or thought of because of there is no way for them to enter them they shouldn't be able to get in0 -
Slugs will find their way in but all you can do is try. When i advised using the pellets i meant to use them inside your kitchen, not outside in the garden. (if you have no pets of course) The pet and wildlife safe pellets will not be harmful to any animal. The ordinary pellets will not be safe.

I think it might be a case of trying different options and monitoring the results you may find one or a couple will work. Anyway I hope you manage to get it sorted.0

Hello @sunflower2
Sorry to hear they are being pesky! I had a google and enticing birds is suggested as they are their natural predator, so maybe a few bird feeders? or putting out some bowls of seed?2
