Our Let's Play Fair campaign is back šŖ

Hi everyone Ā
Do you remember us making a few posts about a campaign called Letās Play Fair last year? Donāt fret if not. Iāll catch you up. Letās Play Fair is a campaign for free, accessible, and inclusive playgrounds in every community. You can check out what we got up to last year on our website.
Iām glad to say that Letās Play Fair is back! And, this year, weāre focussing on making local changes.
Life is harder than it should be for families with disabled children. Especially during the current cost of living crisis, as many of you will know.
So itās really important that disabled children and young people have access to free, inclusive playgrounds in their area. Play helps children to develop, and form memories that last a lifetime.
Throughout the campaign this summer and beyond, youāll have the opportunity to:
- Call on your councillor to prioritise playgrounds
- Discover how accessible and inclusive your local playground is
- Find out how to influence your local decision makers on this issue
This will help make sure that disabled children get to play too. Showing all children from a young age that an inclusive world is possible.
Iāll be posting opportunities to get involved on here. If
you have any questions, or want to know more, please feel free to comment! Or
email the campaigns team on campaigns@scope.org.uk

Yes I remember the campaign and I'm sure it made the news in my local area too0

That's great to hear @Sandy_123
It's quite a popular campaign! We're hoping we can have even more of a local influence this year.
Do you reckon your councillors will be supportive of the campaign?0 -
Erm I don't see why they wouldn't beĀ
We have 1 medium size park by me that has no accessible play areas for disabled childrenĀ
We also have a big park that the play area wouldn't accommodate. It's a shame really as every child likes to play0 -
That is definitely a shame @Sandy_123
But I'm glad to hear you feel your councillors would be on board with changing this.Ā
I'll be making a post later this week letting you know how you can email your councillors in just a few clicks, with the opportunity to share your personal experiences if you'd like.Ā
