PIP award letter

I am wondering if anyone can help. I still haven’t received my award letter and have waited over 5 weeks for it now. Each time I call I just get told that the personal dealing with my claim hasn’t clicked the button to start the process. I’m told that they will be reminded to do it, and each time I have to wait a further two weeks. When I then call again I’m told the same thing. It’s so frustrating as I just don’t understand why they won’t issue the letter. I’ve had my back pay and had my first payment, but without the letter I can’t declare I’m on PIP for my car tax etc. is there a complaint contact number for PIP?
My claim went via appeals so each time I call they have to put me on hold to speak to the appeal department, but I don’t underpants why I can’t talk to them direct.
Sorry for the long post, just feeling really helpless in trying to get this letter!

Hello GraceylaceyThis is a problem that your local MP might be able to sort out for you. They are in a better position to communicate directly with the DWP on your behalf. You can search for your local MP contact details here https://members.parliament.uk/members/Commons if you want to write a letter or contact them in person. If you want to contact them online then you can use this site here https://www.writetothem.com Both sites require you to input your Postcade and it will search for your local MP allowing you to contact them. You must include your home address and postcode to confirm that you are in there constituancy and information to do with your PIP application like your National Insurance number etc for them to help you.Hope that helps.Nasturtium0

In all fairness, a lady I have recently supported who was awarded PIP has now been waiting over 3 weeks. I did comment on a thread by a different member too who is also waiting, something odd...0

Well it’s now been 2 months and still not got it, it’s been sent on 19th June so how it takes 3 weeks to get to me is a mystery. Given up now0

Yes providing you had the difficulties for at least 3 months when you started your claim. It's not that easy to work out what your award is from that payment because it will depend on what the cut off date was for the money they owed you. Also the money owed will include 2 different rates, which will be before and after the April increase.

I had huge amount and claim was end of December and works out at 24 weeks and looks like it’s full payment for both parts which is why I asked if it only goes back to start of claim had condition over 14 years0

dwp very quick to blame royal mail at my end
i think all (pip) decision letters come from the dwp Northern Ireland offices (don’t quote me on location but they are all sent from the same location regardless of where you live) - I’m personally starting to wonder if there’s an issue with the dwp mailing room?0 -
Letters are printed and sent. They go through a mail sorting process in bulk with RM. I can't see how it's DWPs fault if the letters are printed and sent. Once this is done it's out of their hands.

I get your point poppy - however something is obviously going wrong either in the either in the postage stage (from when Royal Mail receives an envelope right to when they deliver it - I presume it’s Royal Mail) or before it even gets to the postage stage (ie before it leaves dwp hands)
Considering I’m having no other problem with my other post unless your suggest that Royal Mail misplace some dwp labelled envelopes on purpose then it makes me think it’s one hell of a fluke or something may be happening at the dwp end that stops it reaching Royal Mail to begin with (although the Royal Mail sorting centre that receives all pip decision letters once posted perhaps has a problem)
point is it doesn’t sound like it’s a local delivery problem as there seems to be a few of us on this forum with the same current lost decision letter issue and I doubt we all live in the same area of the country so logic wise something is going on either before posting or early in the delivery process (the initial mail sorting process)
but something is going wrong somewhere in the delivery process0 -

I haven't suggested that at all.

I’m sorry Poppy - I just want this current pip renewal cycle to end officially now and this postage situation has got me banging my head on a brick wall0
