Applying for social housing

I’ve applied through my local borough but it’s been several weeks and messages and not heard any updates(they’ve response and said they’ll process it soon). Also I currently live in another borough rented and paid for by family but my name is essentially on bills. Or will be As it was paid upfront

What should I do here, tell council application where I am even though it’s temporarily and would move soon. On any outcome .
Or just wait for application to be processed and get bids to a place in borough I have always actually lived

@lewismgza I'm so sorry to hear it has been such a wait for you.

I would suggest reaching out to Shelter. They would be able to best advise and even have advice pages on their website that you may find useful to read :)

When i applied to be added to the housing list i waited more than 2 months for confirmation that my application was successful and i could now start bidding.

You should tell them where you're currently living, which should have been done when you applied to be added to the list.

However, being added to the list and being able to place bids doesn't mean you'll be housed anytime soon. You could potentially be waiting many years, depending on your circumstances and which band you're placed into.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

Sadly social housing is in great demand and very short supply, our son has now been waiting around 7 years.

Well I put all my situations where I lived, where I’ve stayed etc but I done form months ago before I had to stay where I am as I was and still could only live with family

It will depend on their criteria. Some require you to have either lived in the area for X amount of years or have a local connection to that area.
