Won tribunal

Hi everyone so after a year my pip claim was allowed at tribunal and I was awarded enhanced rate for both! It still hasn’t sunk in yet I opened the letter with the decision note and burst into tears! 🙈 I spoke with someone today who went through the questions about hospital and prison and bank details he said it can take 4 weeks till it gets seen by a case worker for them to approve and release the payments! Do we have to tell anyone about pip or is it all done through their systems? Like universal credit, local councils etc?

Woohoo!! That's great news @alix90 I am so happy for you
I believe you don't have to tell anyone? But I am sure one of our more knowledgeable members will be able to confirm that!1 -
Thank you @Hannah_Scope it still hasn’t fully sunk in yet! Do you know if we have to declare the back pay at all? X0

Money owed is disregarded from savings for 1 year. Once the award is in payment you can tell UC by putting a note onto your journal. You mention "we" if you're claiming UC with a partner and they look after you for at least 35 hours per week they can claim carers element for looking after you. (assuming they do not claim the LCWRA element for their self)

Congratulations on your win !
I did inform UC but they said it doesn’t effect what they pay you .
I have informed my local council re rent / CT so they are aware .

I have informed my local council re rent / CT so they are aware .My advice above was for Alix90 and their circumstances maybe different to yours. In some circumstances a daily living award can increase someones UC entitlement. For you because you're claiming UC your rent will not be paid from your local council (Authority) unless you're either living in supported or temporary housing. It will be paid as part of your UC known as housing element, administered by DWP.0 -

Yes they will eventually contact you to ask if you've been in prison or hospital. After a Tribunal win it can take up to about 8 weeks to receive what is owed and to put your award into payment.
