Hi
I applied january 23 for pip. Assessment June 23. Notification of award last Thursday. Back pay today. Does your back pay work 4 week in arrears as I havnt been paid the right amount?
Do you get your next monthly payment paid with your universal credit? Will that be 4 weeks after your back pay?
I got standard rate fir both living and mobility. I was expecting higher rate for living can you appeal this? Do you ring pip or fill out a form?
Lastly - can you apply for 150 payment now that I have been awarded pip.
Many thanks for any advise.

The money owed will be from the date you rang to start your claim. (assuming you had the difficulties for at least 3 months at the time you rang) It will also include 2 rates it will be the rate before the April increase and the rate after the increase.PIP isn't part of UC and will be paid separately from it. It's paid every 4 weeks (not monthly)The first step to appeal is the Mandatory Reconsideration. (MR) Before doing this you need to make sure you fully understand the descriptors and what they mean. There's no point in requesting the MR if it's not possible to score more points needed for a higher award. This may help. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/personal-independence-payment-assessment-guide-for-assessment-providers/pip-assessment-guide-part-2-the-assessment-criteriaIf you do request the MR you need to put this in writing stating where and why you think you should have scored those points. I don't advise you to ring to request it. There's also a form you can fill in here but you'll need to print it off. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/challenge-a-decision-made-by-the-department-for-work-and-pensions-dwpYou do not need to apply for the £150 cost of living payment because it will automatically be paid to you at some point.

You need to request Mandatory Reconsideration- on the letter you received about your award, there should be information about "MR". Note- you could lose as well as gain. It would help to maybe speak to someone, or talk here, about the areas and how you scored. Scope has a helpline, Citizens Advice Bureau has1
